Hi all,
Could I please have some informed comments on this item? My initial thoughts were "REPRO"! but now I am in a heated debate about it! I have UV black lighted every square inch of it and the only thing remotely unusual is the 2 lower buttons, even though they match the upper buttons to the front closure, TURN green under the light! I guess they have been replaced at some stage. It might explain why there is a small tear next to lower button too. Other than that, the rest of the tunic is absolutely UV negative, which is not what I was expecting.....There is a little overall wear apparent and some sweat like staining to the inner collar. Light rust to the hook and fastener to the collar. Appart from the tear to the lower front closure buttom, there are no field repairs or other damage. The buttons to the cuffs match (black plastic). There are the usual pebbled aluminium buttons seen on so many Wehrmacht uniforms to the pockets and to left hand side provision for securing a shoulder board, there is one button missing to the right hand side. Unfortunately no shoulder boards came with the tunic! It is of note too, that the area under the collar that hasn't seen light, has slightly stronger brighter colours also. I know I have seen one for sale somewhere out there that has the blue material pockets, just can't recall where. A good repro or the real deal?? Any extra images or info please don't hesitate to contact me. As usual all information provided will be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
David R
