Eagle, shoulder boards and collar tabs

Hello,
Finally getting around to posting some of the insignia I've picked up over the years. The cap eagle came from a flea market in Nashville many years ago and I didn't realize it was done on calico cloth until many years later - has anyone else ever seen this?

Also, I noticed there is some oxidation to the bullion on the collar tabs. Is there anything that can be done to arrest it, or is it best to leave it alone? I know with zinkpest on badges many use vaseline, but don't think I should do that as I fear it will get on the cloth.

as far as i know there is no way to stop the corrosion once it has started. someone else may have better info for you. but please do not ruin them by using veseline

I have never tried it, but I wonder if you could use silicon spray, the kind they sell to repel water on suede shoes...just a thought.

Oil and collar tabs

I would not do anything to them. From what I understand corrosion, once it has begun on aliminum, can't be stopped. Maybe somebody who has a bit of knowledge in metallurgy can give you a better answer. But I would not do anything to the tabs.
