    Early Hoffmann Flight Boots LBA37

Picked these up, along with another pair of flight boots, at the Raleigh Show this past weekend. Been looking for a pair for a long time. Seen this style in the ' Luftwaffe vs RAF by Mick J. Prodger' book, on page 150. Those boots were credited to George Peterson, (not the same pair), in the publication. Label is washed or worn with only the L.B.A. B 37 left. Huge size! Original WILOP soles on both.
Enjoy and will post photos of second pair later. D.L.

Yeah, I know! Looks to be post war name added, probably worn by 'Joe'! Thanks Gene. All the Best. D.L.

                        Hoffmann boots

i always thought the early hoffmaan boots were chocolate brown suede with early oval buckles

I am familiar with the type you have pointed out but, Hoffmann did manufacture this type as well. I referred to the book by Mick J. Prodger, on page 150, shows this type with the Hoffmann label L.B.A (S) 37, mine were made in Berlin. Thus the B in the LBA marking.

                            Hello,
Very nice early boots. I like the LBA markings. Are you sure they are the original Wilop soles as they look different to the usual Original Wilop soles you usually see? I cannot see any markings on the soles. Are there any?
                            Regards,
                            Andy

Yes if you look closely you can make out WILOP on the soles in small letters running the width of them, I'm posting the sole of the same style of flight boot posted by Voltageman7, (hope he doesn't mind), June 15th of 2011.
