If eggs will fit then that's a good guess; if not, maybe for salt and pepper shakers?

        Salt and pepper

        Hello,
I have such a piece. There is no double egg cup. I am of the opinion that you did there salt and pepper inside and it had to stand on the tables.
        Greeting Esau.

        Hallo,
ich habe auch ein solches Stück. Es ist kein doppelter Eierbecher. Ich bin der Meinung, dass man dort Salz und Pfeffer hinein getan hat und es auf den Tischen zu stehen hatte.
        Gruß Esau.

They are holders for salt and pepper shakers, they are quite uncommon compared to Luftwaffe plates, bowls etc etc.

The one you show is a very nice example.

They are all usually the same size, I sold one a while ago on here and somebody should be happyto have it.

Hi, these are not holders for any shakers. They are complete as they are, holders for salt and pepper. Collecting Third reich China for many years, I looked for matching shakers for a long time. Whilst seeing 20 something holders, there never was a single shaker following the holder. Other Third reich China collectors I have spoken for sure have mede the same conclusion.
I guss it was quite common to just take a pinch of salt/pepper using your fingers.

Absolutely correct. They are more accurately described as 'condiment bowls' as they can also be used for mustard or pickles as well.

I have to disagree on this point as they made a seperate mustard pot. These are rare and when they appear for sale they go for high prices.

I do have a list somewhere that details all the sizes, names etc etc, I will dig it out in a few days time.

That is not Navy, it is a rare Army issue one, still using the Weimar eagle. Worth nearly double the price of the standard 3rd Reich eagle marked ones.
