Luftwaffe Pith Helmet

Hello Fellow Collectors,

I can buy this Tropical Pith helmet from a good friend of mine.
In my opinion it is a nice original (first?) type tropical Pith Helmet but as I usualy only collect Heer and Waffen-SS I really can use you're expertise!
From what I understood the eagles are heavily faked as are the shields, can't really comment on these on this helmet.

That's because the pics are on your computer, so only you can see them.
There's probably something wrong with the links you made.

It's a bad idea using things like Imageshack, pics will disappear after a while anyway and will ruin the thread.

Do you have better pics of the eagle ?
The design is good, the details are not..
.. or is it a ground dug or painted eagle ?

I will ask the seller for a better close-up IMO it is not ground dugged.

These should be highly detailed stamped eagles, the pitting and low detail on this one tells me that it's a fake eagle.
It's rather hard to find a loose original eagle, so I would go for a helmet with original eagle.

Here are some extra pictures the seller just made, there not the best but it's something.
I am waiting for some sharp close-ups to arrive this evening.

According to the seller the eagle is very worn as is the helmet itself.

Thanks for added photos. Eagle is a fake. Would not waste your money on this beat up helmet, wait for a better one with original insignia.
