Typically the swastika on a Storch was positioned on the rudder. You can see where stitching attached the cloth to the metal ribs of the rudder.
Your cloth doesn't show any signs of stitching or aircraft dope which concerns me (not just for a Storch application either). On my monitor the "sand" color looks like it's a gold metallic, another red flag.
If you scroll through this link, you will see some other cloth swastika's for comparison.

Hi, thank you for your reply, the flash must have made it look metallic gold but its definetly sand coloured and does look to have dope on outside covering like a varnish that's what possibly made it look gold when flash hit it, but there are no holes as you say in it, rgds DaveAttached FilesLast edited by sscrooge; 10-16-2014, 10:48 AM.

this hasn't stitch holes either ,it looks like they may have been just tight against the ribs ,rgds Dave http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...torch+swastika

I don't believe the pictures you posted in #12 are from a Storch (even though the OP may think that).
No matter what the position of the swastika on a Storch rudder, at least one rib would be located behind the swastika and the corresponding stiching to attach to the rib. The swastika would need to be very small (half size) to fit in between two ribs. Also the ribs in the rudder are parallel to each other while the lines/indentations in your cloth are 45* to each other.Last edited by mjfur; 10-16-2014, 01:49 PM.
