HG Panzeraufklärer collar tabs opinions please

    Hello all,

I am not that sure to judge skulls ...

Is this Hermann Göring Panzeraufklärer collar tab set okay?
Any opinions welcome, thank You in advance!

    All the best,
    Steve

      No opinion?

Perhaps wrong part of the forum?

I thought here are a lot of experts of HG stuff, too ...

They do appear to have been removed from a uniform, but that is no longer proof of originality. I don't have a lot of experience with Panzer skulls, so if you want me to copy this thread to another part of the forum, I can.

It seems that very few RGG/HG collectors or experts are out there because it is always hard to get opinions on HG colar patches. Maybe you should ask the writer of the forthcoming Schiffer book:

Those skulls are real IMO. I just got a set also and they should be added to the skull database.

The tabs are a tough one to definitively prove. I used to have a set similar to these. The piping is not rayon but a cotton type Russia braid. But I have seen these used in real late war tabs and boards. But that said there are new fakes sold that use this also...i think period made.

Panzer collar tabs are a weak point for me. I'm just not up on original skulls or which piping is correct. All that I have encountered in hand were unimpressive and appeared unnaturally distressed/soiled.

The skulls are absolutely original. However, this pattern is normally seen on shoulder boards.
