NSFK Recognition Model Paper Cut-Outs for HE-113 & Rata I-16

    Hey y'all:

These old "cut-out" ready NSFK recognitions model poster type things have me perplexed. What are they?

I'm no aircraft guy and I've never heard of or seen these things before. Were they instruction / teaching aids maybe? Kinda cool regardless.

Lots math and sketches on the back of the Rata one.

Interesting items! I guess your theory is mostly right.
One of the things recruits in NSFK were stimulated to do was make models of real planes to get a grip of aerodynamics and such. I think perhaps these manuals/Cut outs are meant as both manuals to build wooden models, but also as cut outs of the more detailed illustrated planes.

I think perhaps the most interesting thing about these manuals, is the fact that the Heinkel He-113 fighter never excisted in real life. The cut-out drawing feature the very real record-breaking Heinkel He-100-fighter, that happened to be a contender for the Me-109, but was ultimately only produced in a handful of examples. Germany's propaganda machine tried to convince their potential enemies that a new fighter called the Heinkel He-113 excisted (Not to be confused with the slow and unimpressive He-112), and simply made use of the handful of He-100 examples arranged to look like many when pictured in different settings.

It says that this sheet is for teaching purposes for building models and may not be sold! The scale is 1/33,3

Thanks for showing! What about copying the sheets and building the models for us? I`d be curious to see what they look like!

            Best regards, Jack

As per my information, there are 24 of these paper models numbered 1-24. I have seen German (first 10), followed by British (11-17), French H75, Italian Macchi 200, No. 20-22 unknown to me, 23 and 24 Russian.
