    Brown EM Belt

I have been after a brown belt for a bit to complete an EM display and Im sort of interested on this one. Neverthless, I am a bit concerned with this one due to the residue of material in the reverse. This is the first time I have encountered one with apparently cloth backing. Opinions seeked.

This is the LW parade type belt which was lined with woolen fabric at one time, the remnants of which you still see.

Luftwaffe enlisted belts, whether they were issue or parade type, have a tapered inner strap. Can you post a pic of the inner strap?

Last. In this condition, what would be a fair price to pay for it?

Can you post a pic of where the inner strap is sewn to the belt? This is where the taper is evident.

Gene, as far as I know late enlisted belts (from 1944 onwards) also came without the tapered inner strap and the buckle holes directly in the belt, am I so wrong?

All the issue belts that I have seen that were LBA stamped had tapered belts, just like all the brown parade type belts that came with Luftwaffe buckles have had the tapered belt as well. Brown issue belts were used by the RAD and so marked, but I have yet to encounter one that had a tapered belt with RAD unit markings. It's just something consistent I have seen over the years.

FWIW, here's mine by ELOS with the blue fabric lining and matching cross strap (the cross strap isn't lined). The inner buckle strap does have a slight taper as it meets its sewn part. The great thing is none of the sewing shows on the outer side of the belt.

That's the taper Scott. Here is an issue belt, same type of taper:

Thank you guys for the lively discussion. It has been very informative. Here is the pic requested. Again, if I go for it, if 90 euros a fair price for it? I am inlcined to believe so.

Can you post a pic showing the tapered area?

This is it for now. It appears you have quite the reservations Gene. Isnt that the case?

No, I simply want to see the taper to validate it as a Luftwaffe parade belt. You show the ends, but not the taper
