Lw trop tunic on estand 2nd opinions please

    Hi Guys,

Been looking for a good and affordable trop tunic for quite a while. Is this one good? http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=655819
Second opinions much appreciated. Please have a good look. What about the stamp? Thanks!

    Cheers, W

Here's one you won't have to worry about and likely won't need to upgrade

I second that, if you are going to have only one, this is it.

If it was not for the over the top price I would get it in a flash, but 3500 usd is IMO about 1000 too much.

Email Mike when he returns from the SOS, perhaps the seller will come down a bit. The shoulder straps are very nice too.

Looks great, but so is the price ..
I've no clue why these should cost a small fortune all of a sudden, I've seen quite a few that were only half that price.
There's something going on with the index last couple of years, ..it seems, it took 60 years to reach a price of 1000/1500 maybe and then hoppa, prices are double and more ..
A rather weird development which finally forces people to stop buying.

Spoke to Mike today - the tunic is sold already prior to the SOS.

One looker problem free Luftwaffe tunics like mine and the one on Mike's site are actually quite hard to come by. Usually the questionable ones made of a lighter material seem to pop up for sale more often than the heavier examples. I was offered a lot more for mine than the one on Mike's site but then again it did belong to someone in the Hermann Göring Division and came with capture papers.

Yes indeed and agree fully. The Luftwaffe tropical tunic on Mike's site was a high end, perfect, one looker. In this condition these are not plentiful, but in fact very difficult to come by. The stained, replaced eagles, messed with, and questionable tropical tunics which are more plentiful. Top end pieces will always command top end prices.....

Sorry and not surprised, as Gene already said, a very desirable tunic.

Yes, it is sold pending receipt of funds. I just do not mark as On Hold until a down payment has actually been received. RE: pricing, I do my best to provide guidance but the actual listing price, as was the case here, is usually set by consignors.

It's funny you say that comparing your previous comment on SOS post.

Jos, prices are what people are willing to pay and sell items for. It has always been that way. By your reasoning most items beyond water, bread and a roof over your head are useless and overpriced. This maybe true in a philosophical sense but not so in a practical one.

Not really. 2-2,5K is the avarage price for a trop tunic, so 3,5 is 1K too much.
The flight stuff bought seperately was quite a bit more than 7,5K so that was 'cheap'. So I work with current market prices and if something is considerably more it is expensive, if below it is cheap. Jos does not like the current market prices and considers these way too high. Hence my other comment. Get it?

Perhaps not 1K too much with the NCO (shirt) straps included. NCO tropical flight straps can be tough to find, especially so if they are tunic NCO flight straps. Have seen NCO tropical tunic straps go for over $500 a pair.
