I was going to post about this earlier, but thought noone would notice or give two hoots.
The ribbon bars he wears in the period photo are not 2X the Iron Cross Russian Front Combos.
They are as follows on the left Iron Cross 1939 and Russian Front medal. On the right hand side ribbon bar, one ribbon is too far bleached to make out, but the end ribbon is the Slovakian Bravery Medal. Which looks similar to the Russian front ribbon, but on closer inspection, you see the "huge" variations, and not just in colour tone.
If the seller has the guys award documents or soldbuch it may be possible to find out what the ribbon in 3rd place should be.
