    Yep!

Nice and complete as far as I can see, second type luftwaffe kapok schwimmveste. Also known, by the precise German terminology 10-76 B-1. These life jacket was filled, as its name told, with a buoyant fibre get from the tree that also carried the same name. By someone these jacket was preferred to the less bulky inflatable type, because less fallacious than their life saving 'brothers'!

    Nice catch! Best,

Here's the label missed in your life jacket with the whole info for this type of garment!

I think that was the label of the vest own to our member Gene, that I hope wouldn't get angry for the publication without his permission! Excuse me, Gene!

the story: this is real and good beginners luck story.
this is his 1st luft item as he usually just collects r.a.f but a great lesson to collectors is he did his research/homework after spotting it on ebay u.k, we collectors all missed this one as he paid just 65 g.b.p for it,
                  congrats to him for it.

                    Manufacturers stamp for Kapok vest

                    Hi,
Here is a stamp that is not so easy to read. In the second picture I copied again what is actually read.

Hier ein Stempel, der nicht mehr so gut lesbar ist. Auf dem zweiten Bild habe ich noch einmal abgeschrieben, was eigentlich zu lesen ist.

                        Thank you Pablo

I would like to thank Pablo publicly for posting pictures of the schwimmweste I bought on Ebay. Could anyone give me a clue to the use of the long toggle one the side which attaches to a loop on the other side, was it to hold the schwimmweste together when not being worn, also its a little grubby on the front would anyone recommend having it cleaned professionally ( dry cleaned ) or is the possibility of damage too great.

                            Your question Kapok long knob

                            Hello,

the knob on the long belt is designed to support the neck. You can close the front buttons. We obtain a closed collar, and thus prevents the head falls in the water. In support of the buttoned-up collar, the gag will shut at the long strip. This is to ensure that the rise snaps suddenly. The buttons can be relieved and the front lapel is a little more stable.

                            Greetings Esau

                            Hallo,

                              Thank you

                              Thank you Esau,

A very good explanation It is now clear in my mind how the collar works and the use if the long tie to support the collar. As things stand It is looking for a new home at the moment.
