    Luft M44 Boards

I have several different luft M44 style boards...The normal flight, medical, signals, pioneer, artillery, but never have seen any HG or Field division ones that I thought were real (white or green piped). Any one have any of those they would wish to share.

Well here is an Italian wool type board, the color is gray/blue, also with luft tress and 4 FD maybe?
I have a theory that the luftwaffe may have been transitioning over to feldgrau at the end of the war...
I have never been able to find these type boards in luft blue wool...

One of the problems with this tress is while typically Luftwaffe, you will continue to find it occasionally on Heer jackets and straps until the end of the war. The number would almost certainly not be for FJR 4, not only because they did not use this waffenfarbe, but also the number is almost never for a division but usually a Rgt.. Having said that, I like your strap(s) very much but think them more likely Heer Jager or GJ. Here is an example of a Pz. Gren. Lehr strap with "Luftwaffe" tress:

Thanks for your input. And really like that board as well. I agree one often find heer boards with "luft " tress.

Just curious, OSS have you ever seen an m44 luft board piped in white or green? Do you think they they were transitions over to feldgrau? I have seen the luft feldgrau m44 tunic on virtualgrenadier as an example. And of all those pink HG feldgrau tabs and pink piped tape tongue boards, they were also found with feldgrau white piped tape tongue boards, of which I have a few pairs from that find. Look like it would match that luft m44 in feldgrau.

I have never seen a blue LWFD M-44 strap (green piped). Most LWFD were absorbed by the Heer in '44 so I'm not sure I would expect to see any. I think you are right on the feldgrau HG straps.
