    trade patches?

    Hello all,

Can anyone please better identify these patches for me?

I believe the snake is medical, correct?

    Thanks in advance.

    William,
Yes, "Medical", but being bullion and in that size and background probably an early DLV (or) Speciality patch for an officer.....the M-29 bullion eagle patch is definately early DLV officer, worn as a sleeve eagle on upper arm. The tab appears black (LW Administrative/Bautruppen), but if dk. blue would be Medical Lt.

If the backing match, the medical would be a scarce DLV speciality patch though the sleeve eagle is worth the most....

        Hi,

Medical & DLV specialist patches. The tab, if it has a light blue border, is a reservist tab. If the waffenfarbe is blue then it is a medical reserve tab. Reserve tabs, which are rare, were discontinued at the start of the war.

            Hi,

I assume this all came in one group. As an aside the specialty patches were only won by EMs and NCOs. Officers never wore them. So it appears your guy started out on the DLV in the 30s and rose thru the ranks to Oberst....nice group.

Bullion patches are the most desirable of the specialty patches.
