RAF Mosquito Crew wearing Luft. Schwimmwesten

An interesting pic! Pilot W/Cdr John R. D. Braham (right) with F/Lt Gregory, wearing early B-2 life-vests. Both were later captured and POWed.

ive seen and read about this as the luft vest was deemed a better vest.

Yes, it wasn't unheard of - Guy Gibson wore a B-1 full back vest for a while, then switched to a B-2

It went both ways, probably the greatest trophy item a LW pilot could acquire and one that was greatly sought after were the fleece and other allied flight jackets. My Dad was 9th Airforce and mentioned US jackets were often taken from POWS and even the dead and used by Germans.

            Hi there!

The mosquito crew both wearing 10-30 B1. The full back swimmweste was marked 10-30. The inflatable german life vest was highly prized by english pilots.

            Cheers!
