Any period pics of these in wear?

Just seeing if anyone out there has any period photos to hand of these pants in wear. They are pre/early-war pilot pants favoured by fighter pilots (often worn with the Fliegerbluse/Tuchrock) I have seen pics of Galland and Molders wearing them but cannot find any at present. Thanks!

    Hallo Harry!

They're not cutted off from an early suede flight suit?

    Cheers!

Pocket flaps look different, plus they don't look that heavy .. IMO.
      Think Frank might be right.

These pants are for sale at relic hunter and do look like they were made as just pants. If these originally were a coverall, they were IMO periodly and professionally reworked into pants. In both cases there should be more of these and therefore sh/could be seen in period pics.

No, these pants are not from a cut- down flight suit, they are made as pants IMO

            Hi there!

Thanks for the additional pics! They looks made in a very good way. However there's some strange features, like the stamps with the size numbers. They're made like the regular clothing, not as I would found on a flight garment. Again, there's no reason to put on these marking, as the size is write on the Heisler label (I a). By other side, the well made construction and the typical lining from the other type of clothing, could let thinking to a late war reissued production…

So, or a late war refurbished trousers or a post'45 trousers made by a very smart faker!

            Cheers!

The stamp is indeed a bit confusing. I will go with late war reissued - possibly to Heer? Might the latter explain the stamp? I do not think this is a faked item.

No, they are not late war or re-issue, they are rare late 1930's pattern flight pants. I,ve no problem with the size stamps and a label. There are many period photos of simialr types in wear.

I agree. Never come across to a similar match of numbers. There's no reason to put on both of them. 'Ia' speaks all...

That type of marking don't own only to the Heer, but is on every kind of wehrmacht clothes. However the cut, type of garment, materials, tells about luftwaffe issue ...

That's even true that the construction is too much very well made...

                  Cheers!

I'm not sure about the late war hypothesis, or early one, but the trousers in the last pic you show, not the same of that in your hands. The last one I think that are early war customized pants, often seeing wear also by Galland . They looks made in blaugrau wool as the EM luftwaffe issue ones.. or something else... You can see the side slash pocket and the cut of the little straight one for the watch pocket...

Hmm.. as said, I have never seen both of size number on the same clothing. Why with the way to indicate the size, common on all flight clothing (Ia), someone have to need to read also other numbers? Why both of infos?

                    Cheers!

                      Hi Frank and Harry,

the pants shown in Harry's pic are IMO indeed regular wool Lw pants with pockets added. Very different from the one for sale at the Relic Hunter.

                      Cheers, W

                        Hallo, Wilhelm!

Yep! I think that was a common practice in early days of war, born from a necessity of the pilots that needs to carry some important survival items, that will inspire the designer for the follow production of the kanalhose!

                        Cheers!

Yes, different, just trying to highlight that there were a few types other than the later standardised Kanalhosen

Early fliegerkombis often had both printed size stamps and labels with the size code.

Jos, Nice photo..again I think there are wool pants with thigh pockets similar to those in the photo I put in post no.8
