    Hi dornier,

    My initial reaction is that it has been messed with in potentially a few ways. Are you able to upload clearer photos, and include the underside of the tabs?

        Pockets are gently scalloped. The base jacket looks off to me.

              That is scalloped the other way around from how it is done on the tunic. As it is shown in the period pic is quite common not how it has been done on the tunic on which opinions are sought.

                  There is nothing wrong with various gradations of scalloped pockets, in my opinion. These were privately tailored and tremendous variations exist for certain features. Other features were very consistent.

                  For my money, there is something off about the entire thing, and it appears to be put-together or partially restored. To Adam's point, the base jacket may be off as well, I'm not sure. But there's uneven wear/age, from the jacket to the ribbons to the tabs, for example. That's what bothers me the most about it, based on the current crop of photos.

                    Yes to clarify - Scalloped pockets do not condemn a piece but they are a warning flag in many instances.
