And I found this clipping of paper in the lower right front pocket. Possibly tailor measurements?

Can anybody tell what it was cut from? Seems to be wartime printed literature.

              Very nice tunic!
the paper looks like it's cut from a death notice?

                  Wunderbar! The piece finally arrived.

Good show. A great tunic, Adam. Nice, matching tailor labels, and a clear name to pursue further research with.

                  Congrats, my friend.

Congratulations Adam on such a fine named item! I also agree that the paper is from a death card, the black borders and the text fragments implicate this.

Now you've only have to identify and acquire the right types of awards to go with all those loops, what a great "project"!

                      Enjoy!

Great piece Adam, loads of loops to fill, I hope you can perhaps locate a few photos of him? I for one look forward to seeing what you come up with on Fichter.

                          Congrats Adam!

                            Thanks guys!

Yes the search for more info should be a challenge but hopefully somebody on the board has something. *fingers crossed*

I'm quite amazed that I was able to find the following picture. This was posted on a different forum several years ago and the image looks to have come off of German eBay at some point.

Photo shows Nachtjagdgeschwader 1 ace Werner Streib (right) standing with Oberst Wilhelm Fichter (left) when he was in command of Flak-Scheinwerfer-Regiment 1.

Appears that Streib has given Fichter an honourary Nachtgeschwader 1 badge in thanks for his lighting up the skies for his fliers.

Photo would have been taken sometime between 01.03.41 and 10.03.43. I can only see his EKI and Spange unfortunately.

This might be the only photo I ever find of this man so I'm happy to have found it.
