    hello

radio equipments seem to be german ones (Ln thoatmike)
though, I don't think it was used by aircraft crew but rather by people on ground

the one you show seems to be a mix between Dfh(b) radio equipement and a strange (LW ?) nachrichten helmet

a picture to try to explain the possible use (even if on this picture LW soldier used regular flight helmet LkpW101)

you should post direct pictures here if you don't want this post to be "no use" after the end of the auction

    regards
    daco

Looks similar in construction to some Dutch helmets I've seen.

Well, it is sold as a German pilots flight helmet.

I have sent the seller a question regarding markings and labels, but so far whiteout any response.

In my opinion the throat mic and the jack sticks look German, but better pictures would say for sure.

            This might help:

I know there is a thread with nice pics of a SdKfz with several men wearing these kind of caps, but I can't find it now. Perhaps it's in the LW forum, or the FJ one , i don't know.

                Thanks!

The auction ended with only one bid and sold for aprox $350,- (NOK 2000,-).

The buyer registered at the Norwegian auction site just hours after the tread was posted on WAF, so my guess is that he is a WAF member. If so, I hope we can see some better picks when he gets it.

By the way, the seller tells me there are no internal markings what so ever, but the electric components are all LW-marked. (Fl ore Ln).

Exitd to learn if I just missed the deal of the year...

                    Hello,
if more images are desired, then I ask for your patience. I bought the hood. It now takes a bit because a friend of this I have yet brings from Norway.

So, as I've heard, this is a cover for the staff of gun turrets on warships.
Unfortunately I do not have any of this documentation or descriptions.
Maybe someone here has the forum pictures or documents describing the hood or in the application shows.

Nevertheless, I am of the opinion that such a cap is also rare.
I wish you a wonderful first Advent.
                    Greeting Esau

                    Hallo,

Agree, Kriegsmarine deck communications haube as worn by gunners - they had radiocoms link to the bridge via these for assistance with directional firing. Is there a 'M' mark on it anywhere??

                          Hello,

I'll see you then. I'm still not the hood. I'll have a look and then just imagine them again.
                          Gruss Esau

                          Hallo,

das werde ich dann sehen. Ich habe die Haube noch nicht hier. Ich werde sie mir dann genau ansehen und sie noch mal vorstellen.
                          Gruss Esau

Before the auction ended the seller told me the hood was found at Kjevik Airport (not far from the city Kristiansand) here in Norway some time after WW2. According to him, there is no internal markings.

Any way, congrats on what appears to be a great buy.

                            All the best

It looks similar to this, picture taken at Sola airport.
