    WWII Luftwaffe coat, opinions needed

I'm looking for some feedback on the authenticity of this coat as I'm still very novice and not quite sure what to look for... The seller is claiming it to be an original German WW2 Luftwaffe colonel coat with shoulder boards

I have had a look at similar posts on this forum and in another group, and I've gathered that this may be a custom tailored officer gabardine coat with Oberst shoulder boards.
I also wanted to know what a decent price to pay for the item would be, or any information or knowledge that you may have and its possible authenticity would be greatly appreciated

thanks in advance guy and gals

As posted in the other section:

Boards appear to be Heer but better photos would help. Mantel looks like the rubberized type possible. Original IMO.

        Hallo!

Your coat is the luftwaffe version of the gummimantel, made in a sort of rubberized water-proof cloth. The board looks as an heer pair, because the thread is 'subdued' and the studs are white metal instead to the more typical luftwaffe goldish device. However during the war could be used also by some luftwaffe guys, maybe for availability and mostly because they wasn't collectors!!!

        Cheers!

Looks like a nice original rubberized officers jacket. I would take the shoulder boards off an put a nice pair of flight boards on.

Can't speak to the value of the Heer shoulder boards but the jacket on its own would be worth a few hundred dollars I imagine. More rare than your typical winter weight wool mantel but less desirable collectible IMO.

Thanks for the feedback Adam What makes you think that the boards are heer? as from the look of pips (not sure how well it shows in the pic) there is still some original gold colour visible between the grooves

Thanks again for the help everyone
