ID Help - Squadron with RK Traeger

Here is a rather large photo I picked up today with some Imperial things. Can anyone help ID the RK traeger in the center and the aircraft/squadron?

    Thanks

The photo used to be framed and is 6"x10" and on the back is hand written in pencil: Arno, Hein 1941

    Thanks

Very nice photo. I'd like it on my wall any day.

The aircraft are Fw-190As, either A4, A5 or A6. I believe the unit is JG1 and I think there was an ace Arno Hein.

I can't get to my references to confirm things.

Looks like a good match. The name on the back could be from one of the enlisted crew as well and has nothing to do with the RK traeger in the center.

          The date is 1941.

          And which JG is this?

          Thanks for everyone's help.

I beleive it is JG 1. as the Tatzelwurm was displayed on the cowling of their FW 190's.

                hallo!

I think that the guy couldn't be Hans Philipp. The shape of the face is different, as the chin and lips... Again, in the august of 1941 Philipp was honored with the Oak Leaves as Staffelkapitän of the 4./JG 54. The 'Tatzelwurm' painted on the 190s cowl was owned by the Jg1 and he was transferred to that jagdgeschwader only in april 1943, where he served as Geschwaderkommodore...

The promotions/decorations could live up BUT I believe you're right about the face shape.

Is the fellow in the initial group shot holding something in his lap?

Not only different shape... In '41 Philipp was still in the Jg54. The photo was shoot in 1941 (as write on the back) and the planes owned to the Jg1...

I have try to enlarge the pic but it is not still clear. The dark shadow on the breast of the RK trager could be the tail of some kind of pet... However I agree with you. Looks as the oberleutnant holding something...

                    Cheers!

                      maybe seems Bruno Stolle?

(but he served in JG 2)

                        Hallo!

Bruno Stolle was never with the Jg1 and won its Knight's Cross on 17 March 1943 as Hauptmann and Staffelkapitän of the 8./Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen"...

He is holding a black dog - probably the unit mascot.

                              Hi there!

And if were Max Buchholz before he made to grow the mustaches? He won its Ritterkreuz on 12 august 1941...

Is quite similar, even if his chin is more 'long' compared to our guy and the lower lips less 'fat'...
