Original issued leather jacket, but pretty beat up condition and stripped of collar, lining, plugs on sleeves and breast eagle. As for value - they are getting pretty expensive, but in this condition I'd still say well below a 1000 euro.

                      Hi, Raffaello!

Jesper is right! Even if I think that will not easy sell a jacket in this condition...

The collar sometime is cut off also during the war for a sort of comfortable purpose. Maybe the large collar was not so much indicated to wear under the parachute harness.. or only for fashion.. who knows! For sure sometime left the jacket even during the war. The night fighter ace Martin Drewes is pictured with his RK around the neck and a collarless issue leather jacket!

                      Ciao!

Original in its origins all right but in terrible condition. It would not be worth anything to me and would be surprised if anyone paid more that 250 euro for it.

A shame for what was once a beautiful jacket.

Hello, I agree with what has been mentioned. A true salty WW2 combat Vet. Somewhere on this site pics show a pilot with a customized collar like this. This jacket could be rubbed down with leather conditioner and maybe worn while taking a Harley ride or used for rebulid parts. Best, Bill

An original jacket in rough condition.
Here is a whole Staffel of JG26 with their collars removed (seemingly a tradition in this Staffel) - in a mixture of heated and non-heated jackets. Apparently the large collar in combination with the schwimmweste was uncomfortable and restricted head turning - vital for constantly scanning the sky around you. Notice also many have the front thigh pockets removed from the pants
