    Luftwaffe flak tunic

    Hello all,

I have what appears to be a post war Luftwaffe tunic with WW2 insignia. I think that the insignia is original and was looking for a second opinion.

    Thanks Greg

        Hi there!

The insignia maybe .. is the tunic that send me some concern. I wouldn't were a post war tunic with wartime insigna add.. By the pics looks to much blueish for a luftwaffe tunic.

        Cheers!

I think the boards are Heer artillery.

Sure! Being subdued ones are more close to the army artillery, but it is not so strange the same use among the flak artillery guys on theatre of operation.

            Cheers!

I had an untouched Luftwaffe Flak mantel that had artillery boards. But this tunic is certainly not correct.

The tunic was given to me so it didn't cost me anything. I was curious, as I haven't seen a Luftwaffe tunic in such a dark blue colour before so assumed it to be post war tunic, that someone had added period insignia, to make a display.

Did the Germans have removable collar tabs in WW2 or are these a post war thing or reproduction? The shoulder tabs and breast eagle look ok to me.

                Regards,

                Greg

Yes they had the removable tabs on the summer uniforms.

Based on what I have heard, I think that I will take the insignia off and ditch the jacket

                    Cheers, Greg
