    odd bird? Tropical Luft tunic

    Hi Guys,

what to think of this tunic at Bill Shea's? One elongated breast pocket with as a result a rather high placed eagle. And what of the eagle itself?

    Cheers, Willem

The eagle has been replaced and also the pocket flap over which it has been applied -different fabric to the rest of it- and the shoulder strap loops as well probably and the eagle does not look original IMHO. That is why the pocket looks elongated, because the replacement flap as been resewn to high up.

Did you see this cap, it looks to have been messed with at the least, but they don't mention that. An upgrade at the least and maybe something worth mentioning to any prospective buyer IMO

For such "low" prices you can't expect the premium, ahuum, says all how ruined this hobby already is..
I'm still amazed how fast this hobby is going down the drain, only few years ago you could buy stuff like this for a nickel and a dime, now it's better to bring your money to the jeweler to have something nice for the same amount of money.

              Thanks for the heads up!

              Hi Guys
Thanks for the heads up on this tunic. My 68 year old eyes totally missed these alterations in the Luftwaffe tropical tunic. Now that I have pulled it off the rack, I totally agree. The right breast pocket is an ancient replacement made of similar material and been with the piece for a very long time, It has even faded in the same fashion as the rest of the blouse. Indeed, the pocket itself is slightly smaller and the flap has been applied higher which gives it a distorted look.
I shall rewrite the description to reflect these flaws and reduce the price of the tunic accordingly.
              Respectfully,
              Bill Shea
