Hand-made item - "Tiffany" Summer eagle

This came in, it was with some night fighter thingies ..
Not a jeweler piece, but quite some work to make IMO.

That is absolutely beautiful, Jos. That is the kind of personal items I like the best and value most highly. If I was lucky enough to own that eagle, I would buy a white Luft tunic to display it.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Having worked at Cartier for some years, (who took a passive anti Nazi stance during the occupation, and made a brooch of a bird in a golden cage to express the French view)
It think it could possibly be platinum.
          Are there hallmarks?

It's just silver finish, not platinum IMO.
It looks like 2 kinds of metal have been used.
Some extra metal for the weak spots ..

            Here's the back ..

Well, that's the official history and there is always two sides on a coin. Over the years a couple of guys have been regularly showing up Place Vendôme with some nice period made evocative jewels or cufflinks perfectly stamped "Cartier" and original (taken in Berchtesgaden...) to get the story behind the item, you know, a look in the archives. Each time the answer has been: "we are going to escort you back to the entrance"...
