Help with a Luftwaffe General's Name

Greetings, I am in the process of acquiring a Luft General Officers Tunic and unfortunately the name has been cut out but I know the keen eyes here on the forum can do miracles with partial names so I thought I would give it a chance. I do not have a list of Luftwaffe GEN LT but do not think there are that many of them? Thanks in advance for all the help.

It would be good to add the name plate pictures!

      Hi there,

Has anybody helped you out here? If not, shoot me a PM with your e-mail address. Some time-consuming projects over the next couple of weeks, but after that I can assist you with this.

      Best regards,

      Jason

Considering the label most likely reads berg or burg at the end and it has to be a Genltn the following would fit:

          Walter Friedensburg

Alfred Gerstenberg (if the label reads first Herr than first name that first name could start with an A - see label - this would make a very nice fit) furthermore no frontpostings (Luft Attachee in Rumania) which fits nicely with KVK ribbon.

          Graf von Hachenburg

          Erich Homburg

          Herbert Sonnenburg (no KVK)

So if I were a betting man my money would be on Gerstenberg. Medal set up for Gerstenberg would probably have been EK1 1914, Beobacher Abzeichen WWI, KVK1 and maybe WWI wound badge. Neck order RK Hohenzollern with swords.

This is great! Thanks to everyone that replied. Gertsenberg was one of the few Officers that wore the WWI Commerorative Cufftitle. I need to look close to see any trace of it on the uniform. He was badly wounded in flight during WWI. I thought there was a photo of him during an awards ceremony in Romania in the summer of 1944 where he was sweating profusely but when I finally found the photo in the old Bender Luftwaffe book it was of a Colonel General. There is a photo that I believe to be him in the Brian Davis Insignia book. It is a side shot of his back that shows the cufftitle but not the front of the tunic. In that photo he is wearing glasses. Anyone have a photo of him that they could post?

I vote Gerstenburg because you can see the top of the 't' (and its placement)

At least one Lt Gen per division. So there were a lot.
