Anyone Know What Was in These?

Any one know, or have period photos of, what was designed to be carried in these ration tins for the downed luftwaffe pilot?

It's a small food container actually, it was probably filled with some sweet, but healthy stuff to survive the first couple of hours after the person was shot down, Dextro sugar etc..
It's for the single fighter IMO, fighter pilot, fallschirmjaeger ..
Navy had a similar one, but navy marked.
The larger planes had the larger food containers containing stuff they had to share.
These were labelled, so no surprise what was inside.
To know exactly what was inside these small containers a untouch one has to be found.
Reminds me of my time in the army when we were dropped, bad tasting chocolate and card board crackers.

After watching the many fake N&G containers I'm rather surprised that these particular Absprung containers aren't faked, ... or are they ?

          Jos.

Difficult to fake IMO, with correct moving parts and rubber seal etc. I have one that is blue, and one that is more green, but both are Fl marked.....They some times have a white stripe either painted or in white fabric tape applied around them

A friend found 2 at a fleamarket some years ago (for 50 cent each) - the seller told him she has just emptied the original contents the evening before...

Excellent! I was guessing they would have the blue Sho-Ka-Kola inside along with other items

If you put one of those chokolat-tins inside (they were not meant for) there is no room for anything else...

ich glaube das die einheiten und auch die piloten selber den inhalt frei zusammen gestellt haben. der inhalt wird zum teil das sein was auch in den grossen behältern war. z.b. dextro, dauerbrot.
