Absolutely not my field, but let's give it a try ..

My opinion is only based on a repro pair I once owned and this one or pair looks very similar ..
The pips are not right for general, they should be bigger IMO, the white cloth looks too fluffy .
      Just some observations.

Think Ramjet owns a original pair and people like Kurt or uncle Kurt ..

Here's some stuff to compare ..

Thanks Jos - the white is actually more used then it looks like, fault of the flash.
Pips are Aluminum, so I guess they always look like new ;-)
The pre-owner (old collector) had a greatcoat with collartabs same rank, maybee he added the pips to match the rank?

Yes, pips might be added ..

For the rest it's very hard to judge them from photo's only IMO.

              Difficult to judge.

I agree with Jos, the white cloth is very fluffy, a little bit too much in my opinion. Is the golden braid made of fine woven metal strings or of another material? The golden braid also looks artificially aged, compared with the shiny silver braid.

The screw buttons are post-war, I think. Could You measure the diameter, please, Patrick? Same goes for the pips.

Of course, that I own a genuine pair does not make me an expert on General boards, I just can compare with the real thing.

I think the boards themselves are period but in a heavy worn and bad condition ...

The pipes are postwar and added ... On Generals boards they must be much bigger...

Would the pips be bigger for a colonel general? Where would they fit? No dog in this fight, and not saying yea or nay on the boards, but just in looking at the pips as they are, there isn't much room for larger ones on there across the bottom...

                      Hello to All,

                      As rightly pointed out :
                      - the white underlay is fluffy ... but normal as it is not made of fine 'badge cloth' but lower quality felt, which nevertheless is also often seen (despite some collectors might not agree).
                      - the golden braid is more tarnished than the silver one ... what is also correct as the golden is in metallic wire that will become dull with age whereas the silver braid is made of aluminium that won't tarnish.
                      - the pips are smaller than the prescribed large ones for general's ranks ... but is again not unusual at all and certainly not when 3 pips have to be applied on a board for Generaloberst. Hard to say if these are period applied or not : just check the area under the pips.

To me, the boards are OK.

                      Best,
                      Mark
