    Luftwaffe Flight Tunic - Oberst

    Hi all,

I have this Luftwaffe flight tunic which I have posted before. I am reposting it because a friend has taken better photographs than I had. Plus this time it is without the Heer aiguillette which came with the tunic when I bought it.

It is unnamed but to a DKiG / SK recipient. IMO and I believe others will agree the collar tabs have been period upgraded from the rank of Major to Oberst.

I hope you like it as much as I do.

I remember your earlier photos and these ones definitely do it justice.

I presume your next project will be obtaining suitable decorations and badges.

A DKIG is almost a certainty. From my observations, Spanish Crosses are mostly worn just below the pocket.

        Hi Mike,

I hope you are keeping well. Yes it is definitly my project for this year to get all the relevant decorations to go with this tuinc. I actually have the tunic beside me here at the computer with some of the medals and badges on the tunic. Just need a ribbon bar and DKiG to go with it. I didnt wont to post photos of it half done.

I am also going to invest in a proper camera and lights this year because I have other tunics that I think are great but with the tools I have I cannot do any of them justice.

I am very happy with these new photos and thanks for the comments and advice.

I would very much like to see your tunic again when you have found the awards you're looking for.

          Regards,
          Frank

              Hi Karol,

Great photos, and thanks for reposting! This guy wore this tunic from Major, most likely. If you inspect the inside of the sleeves and see any signs of the boards being replaced, he could have worn this piece as a Hauptman or earlier. Who knows.

To Mike's point, more often than not you see a DKiG on the pocket, and a SK below. But I've also seen various photos of a DKiG below the pocket. It could also be another foreign award...so since it's not named, you can easily dress it up as you like.

              Cheers

              J-

                            Hi Paul,

I sure have the bug. I guess now for the rest of my days I will be broke and living on bread and water.

I do enjoy collecting Luftwaffe items tho.
