Even if the cap is fake...that is a pretty elaborate stamp that would not add value to the cap. I think the stamp may be real. Feel free to use the stamp photos I posted in the Wehrmacht uniform section.

Dear Forum members.

Please post your eastern capture, film, museum markings of any type on 3rd Reich items please. This is part of a concerted effort on the SS Pink Smock thread, where surviving pocket stamps have now been obtained. There is particular interest in museum stamps and any stamp which has been blacked out. Please post along with them any information you may have on the time it was originally encountered/obtained. This information is only one vital part currently in an over 30 year old issue for future progress.
