I do have to make an apology to you guys about my behavior over a year ago. I was on a lot of heavy medication dealing with my Cancer. It had a lot of my thinking and reasonings faculties all out of whack. I also wanted to make a correction about a statement I made about Otto Schultz, we both did not know for sure about being related. We could trace my immediate family line back to the late 1600's when part of my family moved from Prussia to America. Horst Petzschler introduced me to Herr Schultz (they were best friends all through the war and since the end) but he could not trace his family back more than a few generations because his family records had been destroyed during the war. I showed him some of my family that were living in Germany that I knew I was related to because of family contact being kept by some family members who had moved back to Germany, Norway and the Netherlands. We decided and then assumed in our conversations that we must be very distant cousins but this could not be verified. So, now that I am little bit more clear headed I wanted to correct any misunderstandings.

        Question about Private Purchase Jackets

The question I have is about the "Hartmann" I see plenty of photos of the private purchase blouson café with the waist buckle and zipper. Were any a button up with the same waist buckle? I have seen a few of the button up kind with the buckle.
Now also, concerning the brands of zippers and snaps.
Where can you find direct information concerning the year that a brand was used?
Like PRYM 4, 6, 7 Koh I noor or stocko And Zipp, WICO, Trix, Elite etc...…?

I remember that some of you members questioned me about being an artist and at the time I could not show it. Now that it has been made available to post photos I can show some of my artwork. The bulk of my art was lost in 1996 when my studio burned. A career artist get professional photos taken as well as 4x5 inch transparencies made of their work to not only record, validate, but to use in the future if the artist is seeking to have limited edition prints made. All of my transparencies melted in the fire so the majority of my career was destroyed. I did find some photo or snapshots in a storage area that was not destroyed. Not only was my art destroyed but a great deal of historical items along with it. They ranged from Feudal Japan, Alamo, Civil War, WW1 thru WW2 and some Vietnam era items. Not only those items lost but a large collection of original paintings by famous artist that I collected too. When my studio burned I was so broken hearted that I did not pick up a brush and paint for 10 years. Now days I do not do much painting because of the difficulty with my hands. I can not hold a brush with any dexterity to do detail pieces along with other health issues that interfere with my performance.
I know you guys were going off thinking," oh he is full of ****" and second guessing me....now that I can post a photo I can show some of my paintings. Mind you, I started off being a portrait artist then gradually into traditional Western (Cowboys and Indians) then every now and then was commissioned to do historical pieces. I used to do all the shows, galleries, TV etc back in the 1980's but it attracted all the wrong people and legal problems out the ass so that aspect I stopped doing. I only do it by word of mouth, I do not advertise at all. Here are some pieces in the Ben E. Keith Co. collection. These first 2 were part of a Triptych of 3 paintings telling a story....the 3rd painting and the photos were lost in the fire. NOTE: The better professional photos and the portfolio were all lost, all that were left were these crappy photos to show.

20180410_143623.jpg 2. Lying in Wait 3. of the series was lost in fire.
20180410_141848 (1).jpg 4. Winter Shaman This painting went on a National Museum Exhibition tour.
          20180410_163906.jpg 5. Deep Snow
20180410_163701.jpg 6. Painted Wall Canyon, this painting is a 5 ft x 7 ft oil on board which took me 4 years to paint. This was so heavy once the huge frame was attached that they had to bolt it to their wall in their main lobby.

20180410_164537.jpg 7. This is a pencil portrait of my nephew Brandon Three Hawks that is also in their collection. There are another 20 or so pieces in their collection but you get the idea of my artwork.

I did a ton of portraits for celebs etc.

A letter from Buckingham Palace I was being considered to do Queen Elizabeth's portrait for some Jubilee thingy going on, but a board chose an English artist. I was one of the remaining three artist being considered since I had been commissioned to do Prince Edward's portrait back in 1990 so I guess I was being considered again. And NO, I did not meet Her Royal Highness.

I am sorry if any of you may be irritated for my posting my photos here because I do not know of any area on this forum to post it but I vaguely remember that it was in this thread my artistical talents were put in question. If the moderators feel these are not in line with rules then they can certainly delete this post. But I hope this clarifies my artistic background. I wish I had the better professional photos that show the details so much better along with the better portfolio that had my client listings, letters sent by clients along with photos of me with my clients. You have no idea how much it sucks when your whole life and body of work is questioned, second guessed or people out right call you a liar.

Very nice work Rory. I can imagine with that kind of talent how it must suck to not be able to keep producing works like those that can be appreciated by others. I'd say keep trying, even if it is difficult to hold a brush. You may develop a way to get around the impairment.

It would be nice if you could add your art work here https://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/for...ary-collecting
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

very nice art work, but you did come on to this forum and got yourself imbroiled in a dog fight, over private purchase leather jackets, and what they wore during the war, and got yourself shot down in flames. So you have to build up some respect of the luftwaffe collecting community. Regards Paul.
