    CZ LW Chanell Trousers

Hi All, I have ths flight trouseres from old pilot who served on MiG 15 fighter in Czechoslovak Airforce in the 50 tees. They are completly similar like german trouser, but thees have Wico zippers and KOH-I-Nor snaps. I know that thees trousers are Czech postwar. I know that it has ben dicused, but I dont understand why Czech did the Flagpool packet.
I have asked the pilot, and He said to me that they never used this pocket for anything, and he did not know why it is there. Thats stranege to do something whats not necesary. Trousers came with original wartime LKP N 101 flight helmet.
    Many thanks for all opinions.
    Best regards Jan

I can't answer your question but those are cool Kanalhosen. I wish the pics were smaller and sharper; can you post a pic of the tag?

Because they were communists. They copied what they were told to copy, in this case WWII Luftwaffe hosen. Communists were great at copying, bad at innovating.

A lot of nations after the war copied something german, not only communist countries. Even US took some german technologies. But I agree, communist countries more than others.

True, but I was trying to answer the question about the inclusion of a nonfunctioning feature, in this case the pocket in question. They copied what they were told to copy, and didn't consider that that particular pocket would not be of use.

I've hard time to believe these are postwar ..

These pants also exist with RB label and other label and are exactly the same.
I don't believe in the "brainless" copying, like flag pole pockets, if you don't need them or don't know what it is, besides that all the same fabrics and threads and components are used like the German pants, even the colors are matching.
It's hard to believe, that many years after war, the Czech gave order to copy items, telling they had to be exactly the same, even the color.
Hard time for the maker to find all those exact the same components.
I do believe in old stock, half-products etc..

Besides that Wico and Koh-I-Noor did exist during war.
I've seen flight boots with Wico and Koh-I-Noor which were tagged and dated.

I do. It still happens today.

I go with jos on this one. What happened to all the left over stocks, As i said once before if its made pre 45 in czech rep. is it czech or German, or just made for the luftwaffe. The jet age was coming fast, What about flight helmets, you see these being used with things added on. I did see alot of the type of flight pants pictured about 10 years ago, most had all pockets removed. I asked the dealer selling them what were they he said all used by ex czech air force but made for the luftwaffe all had mix of zip riri kohinoor plain snaps and prym. I dont think remaking them was high on the list 1945 46 ect.
