      I like it Sorry Brian, couldn't resist.

      Here is page 144 from German Military Cuffbands 1784-Present by Williamson & McGuirl. It shows two examples (one on blue wool like yours, and one on black wool) with embroidery identical to the one you've posted.

      I know the "G" at the end looks funky, but I really think that is due in large part to the fairly flimsy nature of the base cloth.

        Bob,

        Please don't take this personal. Again, a "dealer" named Steve Todd took me for a rather large amount of money in the past in which he sort of made right and then again recently for about $300. I am extremely cautious and vulnerable (sniff sniff) when it comes to German cloth. Deep down I think it is the real deal and I trust, as you sound like a stand up guy, that you are telling me the truth.

          It looks good. Brian, Bob is a pretty good guy to deal with so I wouldn't worry too much. Yes, it does pay to always be cautious in this hobby.
