IMO not good, a older fake, these are made of a tough kinda tin/lead alloy with cast in prongs, looks like crimped in.

I once had one of these and it was missing a prong, tried to solder a new one on .., these birds melt like butter after 2 seconds ..

luftwaffe pith eagle

The tropical eagle is a hard one to track down, I had the same one as Jos showed. I managed to get early brass one from Ruptured Duck, not cheap. Then i sold helmet on . Jim sold me his early army trop helmet with early brass luftwaffe eagle on un touched. There has been afew copys made mostly for a batch of luft helmets found in early 90,s which were sold of cheap at fairs in Europe. I have been told early bass eagle worth more than trop helm itself. I think the tropical eagle is not that hard to find.
I've come across a few of them, and in the last 6 months, 3 were sold on the e-stand.

Which type, brass or later manufacture. I have seen the later type on a few dealers sites but imo all copys. Dont think you will turn up the early brass one to handy. They are rare, Regards Paul.
