    Luft HBT Drillich set

Hi Luft collectors, picked up this set, which correct me if i'm wrong.
HBT oatmeal Drillich tunic and pants, with glass buttons, unissued, nice LBA stamps.....would this be Tropical?
Used the search function, found some similar, but was Oatmeal HBT used for tropical?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Regards,
    Gary

Nice set. There were two styles of trousers. A straight leg version that was worn by themselves and the type that you have which were typically worn over the trousers. The trousers that you have are often associated with flak/artillery units.

I'm assuming that there are no lower pockets on the fliegerbluse. It is typically used as a work or drill tunic. I'm sure that if you would compare it to a size 90 fliegerbluse, it is probably a good bit larger. They could also be worn over the uniform. You will see photos of these being converted by Luftwaffe officers to summer/hot weather tunics by the addition of shoulder boards and the summer eagle. Less often, they added the tabs.

As an aside, I've never seen an enlisted worn fliegerbluse like this in a period photo with an eagle attached.
I've got a few photos of these in wear that I'll drop into this thread for you later.

Please, don't use this eagle on any uniform, it's a strange looking fantasy bird.

                  Jos.

                    Thank You Jack...really cool pics
Yes Jos, the eagle does seem odd, i never seen one like it.
                    Fantasy?...or foreign made?
                    Regards,
                    Gary

Either way, i don't sew anything on tunics....i'm far the seamstress.
And the tunic Jack, just has the one inner pocket, no outer pockets.
                        Are these collectable?
                        Thanks Again.
                        Regards,

They are not high dollar sets and well used sets can be found very cheaply. However, unissued sets like yours always have a following and are worth holding onto. The trouser type that you have is more desirable than the straight legged ones.

Thank You Jack, the trousers are the ones that go over type, left pocket has another pocket for reaching through to the original worn pants.
A friend of mine gave me a bunch of stuff, these, a Panzer Greatcoat, Leather Greatcoat, and a shorter type leather with fading wear shoulder boards were.
I'll post some pics later on, the Panzer is up under the uniform forum.
Thanks again, those photos are really cool

The drillich set you have is 100% original as others have said. You do sometimes find them with eagles, collar tabs, tresse etc etc added. While they are not top dollar items the trousers are probably worth 300-400 euro and the jacket 175-250 euro.
