Flight Oberfeldwebel collar tabs and epaulettes: Opinions sought please

    Dear all,
I would like to gain opinions on these flight Oberfeldwebel collar tabs and epaulettes. I am concerned about the collar tabs as the backing material is thin card rather than the usual buckram material and the epaulettes also concern me as the end of the yellow waffenfarbe does not go into body of the epaulette but just ends outside the main body. I hope that I have explained myself well enough!!!

Thanks for any opinions in advance.
    Much obliged,
    andy

            Paul,
I would say it is wool.

Does this photo add anything as to whether they have been made slip-on as compared with sew-in?
            Regards,
            Andy

                      Paul,
I like the way you can just see that little yellow bit of waffenfarbe sticking out of the tunic. Nice one! It makes me think, why did he do this?
                      Regards,
                      Andy

                        tunic

Andy the reason for this is they were still able to get promotion in the camp i do not know if you can see in the picture the extra gull added. The tunics were sent via red cross parcles to the camp, in 1943 most would have been wearing their flight blouse or flight suit. when they crashed landed in Ireland.
The Germans could leave the camp during the day and travel to Dulbin wearing full uniform but had to return that evening.
                        regards paul
