          Hi Ron,

I don't think this is a genuine, Third Reich breast eagle. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't follow any of the templates I've seen.

I wouldn't dismiss this one so fast. Looks like it's been on a uniform. Granted, it's a very strange configuration. Any info, Ron?

Genuine Third Reich is different from Third Reich era. I'm inclined to agree with Gene here...while it does have some admirable qualities, I would say it's from another Axis power if anything.

Might be real, but if so then almost certainly foreign made.

Some of the features, such as the outlining on the innner wing feathers, reminds me of Italian made insignia.

Hello, I like it. It is very well made, and tight . Best, Bill Bourque

Could be foreign, but I'm leaning towards fantasy item.., the type of backing isn't my favorite either.
I've not enough evidence though to call it a straight fake item.

This one was acquired about twenty years ago from a now deceased collector of Luftwaffe uniforms and insignia along with several other Luft eagles of different sorts.

                          A couple more

Top one is nice, bottom one is a stinker IMO

Ron - top one is closest to being original, in my opinion, even though it's different than most of the eagles I've come across. The second one you posted I would not qualify as original Third Reich, either.
