    LW Blue Service Shirt.

    Hello WAF Members:

Does any one know what this is? It has a re-applied bullion eagle. There is stitching from another former eagle apparent.

I'm not up to high speed on these but I know originals are few and far in between. Also I know not all were produced of the Flecken or salt-pepper texture. The seller asserted of a tropical blue affiliation version.

The scalloped stitch pattern at the hems of the sleeves I have seen as an original attribute on tropical versions posted on the "Collector's Guild"
It looks like the two frontal very bottom buttons may have been added as a modification?

Is this a post war military issue or civilain maybe? I'm not holding my breath but your input is deeply appreciated.

    Thanks,,,,,,,-Ray-

    Collar/interior

The inking looks too fresh in a way but maybe some inks can withstand time/cleaning or added postwar like the bullion eagle which is not compatiable to the grade?

*** I just had this face down on the floor as you can see by the ring around the collar. This is not artificial aging/soiling.
A good way to clean the floors though.

      Buttons

Collar button permanent as the 2 very bottom ones.
The rest with a removable feature.

All the removable interior button holes have a horizontal fix. Take note from the other illustrations that the outer left closure panel and pocket flaps have the button holes designed with a standard vertical slit.

Looks like a blue cotton service shirt, probably postwar upgraded, maybe once a long sleeve one IMO.

I should have a long-sleeve version of this kind on the deep ground of my collection crate, if I remember right - sorry, no time recently to search and photograph. Give me some days.

Thank you for the replies and confidence. I really appreciate this. That would be nice to see another comparable example.
