Model 43 in Wear by Non-HG

I think I am correct in saying that the NCOs to the right are wearing the later issued Luftwaffe version of the Model 43 tunic. If so, this is the first photo that I've seen of it in wear by anyone other than HG division members.

Anyone agree or am I missing a pleat somewhere?

I tried enlarging the photo in PS but the result did not help much. However, I suspect these men may be wearing HBT.

Very interesting photo! Is there a way you can make a larger scan?

Also interesting is the fact that the Hauptmann is wearing both a pilot and fallschirmjager badges(and Kreta arm band). The men are not wearing Fallschirmjager helmets...

Is this photo of a squad of surplus "flight" personnel on security duty or moved to a Field Division unit?

Very interesting photo for many reasons!

That's what I was thinking, HBT or the blue tropical tunics

I think that based upon the size/detail of the photo, it is almost impossible to say either way. Maybe a larger scan of the section of the photograph would help?

I think they are HBT. Looking at the sleeves and the lower parts of the tunic, they just don't look like wool.

The one pouch makes me think that they may be a training regiment, field division, artillery or rear echelon troops. Here are a couple of field division photos showing the same kit.

Thanks for everyone's comments on the photo. I was wondering how Mike saw the weave;-)
