DAK Tunic Question

Can someone please let me know what the correct rank set up is for a Oberfeldwebel on a DAK Tunic? I have searched everywhere and I don't have an Afrika ref book. It appears they only wore their boards and didn't bother with the collar tabs or tress???

There are pics showing tabs and collar tresse being worn but this was against regulations. They were supposed to only wear boards but more than a few flaunted this rule.

Thanks for sharing, I'm setting up a 1/6 DAK figure to compliment my collection and want to have him dressed to regulation. Although sometimes they can look better when they break the rules!

Hi Gene, after you give me your tunic I will have a tunic . Seriously, I have a set of tropical Flak boards (my Opa was a Flak Oberfeldwebel) and a couple of cuff titles, breast eagle and Italio-German medal. To set up a little DAK display I have a 1/6 Luft DAK Dragon figure that I am going to convert to an ObFeldwebel and up gun him with some more kit and a new K98. So just wondering if I make him by the book (as all good SNCOs are) or do something different with the collar tabs?

I've turned down many, many offers for my tunic (which came with capture papers), but for your display I'd stick with regulations- boards only

Nice tunics!
With unofficial application of rank collar insignia (was done on occasion)
and plain as per regulations!

Note that the period picture actually does NOT show LW tropical tunics...
but rather British captured (from Crete camaign stocks) and rebadged for LW use!

The correct nomanclature is : ( pre-war)
"Khaki Drill Jackets No.2 (Green) O.R. Except Scottish Regiments". (O.R. stands for other ranks)
