Hi,

The pics sofar are not good enough to give a proper image of the cap..

A overall look of the interior of the cap would be nice , sweatband ,close up of eagle and kockade etc..the more pics ,the better..

If original , LW Off. caps in worn to mint condition can be found in a range of $ 700.- to $ 1500.- IMO. ( and even more.. )
Depends of quality ,shape, maker ,early or late war example.....

is it a bad sign when the "rhomb" in the cap is made of plastic ?

Hi Jazz, so far the cap looks OK, but I agree with Jos more pics would be nice. Inside under the sweatband would be good to see. Like most German items, it is not the front that "tells the story", but the back, insides, etc.

A "plastic" sweatshield would be very bad! This is what modern fakes use. But wartime ones were made from celluliod. This will be brittle, if you were to bend it (do not do this of course ) it would snap and break. Plastic will bend.
