Aircraft Tachometer ME262, FL22245, opinions please.

    Hello,

I got this aircraft speed indicator with post war signature from the KC with oakleaves holder "Walter Schuck".
I´m not a expert for technical items and opinions are welcome.

    Is it 100% a tachometer for the ME262 ?

Are there more airplanes with 1000 KM/H at the tacho?

What is the price for a rare item like this?

    thanks,

    Mathias

Yes - this is the same type used in the Me-262. It was also used in other aircraft, including the Do-335 and the Me-163, and perhaps others, too. These sell for @ $400-500 and appear on eBay fairly often. This one looks 100% fine, but someone does fake dials for these. The fakes don't have radium paint.

              Hi,

the FL22245 speed indicator was used in the Me 262, Me 163, Do 335 and He 219.

              Look here for more information:

              http://www.deutscheluftwaffe.de/inst...talogMenue.htm

Here is the RLM data sheet:

I am no expert on prices of these technical instruments, but I think this one should be considered in a special way as it has the Schuck signature. For a restauration project the condition is not so good, You even still find such instruments mint in their original boxes sometimes.

I have a FL 22240 speed indicator in new condition and paid 165 Euros for it. Hope that helps.

                  Hi there!
I agree with the other guys.

There is no speedometer built for a particular type of airplane, but there are several aircraft that used the same type of speedometer...

Some delear used to say that a particular stuff was used by the army branch that more than other are more interesting for collectors... In this way all the LW stuff own to the paratroopers and the KM things to the submariner... The same old story.

                  Nice catch however!

                  Cheers!
