    Hi Jim,

Herr Haberland does not appear to have any high awards such as Ehrenpokal, Deutsches Kreuz or Ritterkreuz. Judging by his kills it would appear he would have an EK I at least.

From 15.9.1943 until his death he was Staffelkapitän 2/Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen".

This is the info taken from the German War Graves site:

    Nachname: Haberland
    Vorname: Karl
    Dienstgrad: Oberleutnant
    Geburtsdatum: 14.01.1914
    Geburtsort:
    Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 27.01.1944
    Todes-/Vermisstenort:

Karl Haberland rests in the War Cemetry in Dagneux (France). Final grave location: Block 26 Grave 442

Oberleutnant Karl Haberland was killed in action over Aix in combat with a B17 on 27.1.1944. He parachuted out of his aircraft but the chute failed to open.

Taken from the book Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen". Eine Bildchronik by Holger Nauroth:
