A left-over of the movie Battle of Britain perhaps. And the owner had the balls to put the swaz on it. You Brits still live in a free country.

Thank you for the compliments, i used a fast shutter speed to get the propellers still Erich.
Last two shots of the planes together, the skys were crazy on Saturday, grey and blue clouds which make for a nice backdrop, Sean

Wonderful shots Sean - especially the last 2. Great contrast with the clouds and still bright colors on the planes.

Ohhhhh to hear the sound of those engines!

            Thanks

                Me 109

It was a sad day when Black 6 was crashed due to pilot error (his head should be on a pole at Duxford - but that's a personal opinion!).
A momentous year was when it flew in company with Hans Dittes's 109G - maybe not all original, but two DB's together sounded beautiful.
I saw the two 109's accompany the Battle of Britain Flight over North Weald's Fighter Meet. The commentator said what a unique occasion it was and lightened the tone with the comment "und now ve vill shoot zem down!" - a sight and sound never to be forgotten!
Black 6 is now on static display at the RAF Museum in Hendon, one gorgeous aeroplane.
                Best wishes to all,
                Grossfuss

                      Me 109

That looks like the DVD to buy!
I think the 109 at the start with the extended tailwheel (to aid vision on take-off) and the "Galland Hood" cockpit canopy is the Hans Dittes aircraft that flew with "Black 6" over here. What a sound those two make!
Looking at these just shows what a gorgeous profile the 109 has with its proper engine - the Merlin fit just don't look right!
Still, a Buchon is better than nothing.
                      Regards,
                      Grossfuss
