Luft Silver Eagle -opinions please

Hi I have had this eagle in my collection for years. It is not marked on the back. It is non magnetic and measures 3 1/4 inches wing tip to tip and 1 1/2 inches high.

Is it from the Luft summer uniform and what is it's present value?

Agree, but maybe worth a bit more, IMO. These were also used by luft officers in tropical regions, such as Italy or Afika.

Depending on condition and material (zinc or alu or Buntmetall), the range is from 80 to 150 Euros. Zinc eagles are the cheaper ones.

Hi thanks for all your input. The eagle looks to made from aluminum and it has great detail. What is interesting is that the front has a nice bronze finish. On a side view it shows the bronze finish 1/2 way down the pin.

It is layered copper and aluminum, that is then silver plated...not solid aluminum

The material is known as cupal
