The backing looks rather different from that which I have previously seen. Have you seen this backing before Gene? Do you have any more information Martin?

I've seen a variety myself. But I've never seen this one. I'm not saying that is conclusive of anything but was wondering if you had seen this particular backing before.

Apologies for not being more clear but no, I don't recall encountering this type of backing before.

I, also, have not seen this backing before, nor have I seen this particular type of wire used on LW officer cufftitles before. It looks machine-embroidered. That said, I'm entirely open to learning something new and would be happy to see other similiar examples, perhaps from different units, which anyone may have to show. Did they use the same machines to make officer as EM on this one?

Yes, other examples of this colour and weave on Luftwaffe examples would be interesting.

Sorry to dissapoint anyone, but authenticating Luftwaffe cuff titles is not my expertise.

Even though I have been looking for a used and worn Geschwader Immelmann cuff title, I am not the expert on Luftwaffe insignia.
