Luftwaffe camo scarf?

I found this scarf along with another German bring back in my Great Uncle's Footlocker. I thought about it being a U.S. camo but I have never seen it before. I did a little research and it seems that this was used in German parachutes.

Now my questions:

1. Is this from a parachute?
2. Did pilots or other LW personnel wear scarves made from parachute material?

yes German parachute material piece, scarf size. Was used as such.
