Sitzfallschrim - pilot's seat parachute pack

Gents, Any ideas of value for this set? I have only given it a cursory examination but all appears complete and correct, if well used. Please let me know if any other detailed photos are needed - and thanks in advance.

      Hi there!
It's a nice early seat chute... Looks complete to me, and the lines that appears at the edge of the straps, tells us that almost for sure the canopy is still there, and own to the pack from the date when it was manifactured. You have only goes to the nearest parachute school to found somebody that re-put correctly the straps, where the lines are attached, onto the pack! Don't try to open the pack yourself, because without the apropriate tool is almost impossible to close again!

For the value I don't know.. I have get my lot time ago, when the market doesn't get crazy yet!

      Hope this help!

        I like it Mike

Hi Mike, I like it too. The most I have ever seen one of these Sitzfallschirms sell for was $3,500. This one is a little faded and dirty. In my opinion, the market value for one like the one pictured would be between $2,000 and $3,250. Being faded and dirty for a parachute (unlike a uniform) is not a bad thing since this is how the ones which saw some use would look. And it's only a little faded and dirty. I think you got a good original piece Mike. I'm happy for you.

Mike, I owned one of these long ago, somewhere there is a little pocket with a oil cloth book in it with all the use and packing info, it may be on the seat part I cannot remember. I owned it for years until I discovered the pocket. I sold mine for 350.00 (but remember buying it for 150) probably 20 years ago, oh well. I seem to remember one selling on Manions for a lot more than is quoted here but it had the snap in seat cover.
