    Lanyards in Wear Thread

    Gents,

I am currently writing an article on Luftwaffe Lanyards and need photos of Lanyards in Wear! So I am asking you to post your photos here so we have a thread that shows all the great lanyards being worn and how they were worn. I will contact you by PM should anyone post one I want to use.

THANKS! Get a great thread going!

Special Thanks to Jos for looking out for me on several of these!

The one on the left is a private purchase - note the length. But who knows what is going on with the one on the right?

On the left a rare shot of a Flak officer with a Narvik shield! On the right a pilot shot down in his He-111 over Normandy in 1944 while resupplying the troops.

Having had a look through my photo albums there are two more that show lanyards in wear. As they are in group photos here they are zoomed in...

The material in the lanyard in post 5 looks quite unusual - almost more like the material used for an army lanyard. Anyone else notice that?

Very shiny shiny, I was just looking at it and wondering myself.

Looks a bit like having silver and blue stripes .. ?

Very unusual indeed.., nice shot though !

Thanks for the closeup! I would definately say that lanyard has a Luft shield but the outer lanyard over the core is Army. The rosette may even be army. Very, very cool.

                      Anyone else agree?

I don't agree, I would bet it is striped in different colors, blue and silver, no ?

                        Jos.

It SHOULD be Jos, but look at it. Looks straight silver to me and the WEAVE even looks army. Maybe I need glasses but that is what I see. Look at all the other luft lanyards - they are so obviously two-toned while this one looks solid.

Great thread. Nothing to contribute unfortunately.

I mean it looks like there're 2 colors running from top to bottom along eachother, can't believe the long part is all silver and the top part luft.

                              Jos.
