I am nearly tired to state this, but the so hyped pointed collar only is an indication for a late 30s/early 40s shirt. The fashion changed to short collar tips during the war, for jackets as well as for shirts.

    Have a nice weekend,
    Steve

      I agree as well. Sorry.

These shirts with originally applied eagles and set up for shoulder straps are pretty rare

Why are these so darned rare? I would think that they would be more common than the typical tunic? These were usually worn as a dress shirt under a Tuchrock, right?

          Hi there!
They're so rare because due its not-classical military looking, they was used as civilian shirt on a very big scale, after the war to the point of exhaustion.

          Cheers!

Most of the blue shirts did not have eagles or could accept shoulder straps. As the others have stated; since the majority of them were just blue shirts, they were worn after the war. Therefore, most did not survive. Plus, most veterans did not pick these things up.

True, later shirts have a shorter collar point....BUT all period photos of these blau melliert shirts with the breast pockets and trapezoid eagle in matching cloth have the longer pointed collars

Of course ... as they are early model shirts. The original blaumeliertes shirt with the removable collar was replaced in 1943 by the blue-grey shirt with the firmly attached collar. That doesn't mean that those early shirts were not worn until the end of the war (and longer with the eagle removed).

In addition, the point of the triangular eagle backing should overlap the top of the pocket.

                        Hemd

Here's mine. I though I never had had chance to get one but suddently came across one. I changed its enlisted Kanonier boards for these Major ones that gives a terrific Geschwaderkommodore looking.

Nobody mentioned these have provision for collar tip stiffener.

I also have a white shirt with detachable collar but I am unable to find out the buttoms (Kragenknöpfe) to attach them. Any help??
and a black period tie?? sounds easy but can't find one.

                        Regards
                        Fran

How many Kragenknöpfe are needed for such a collar?

Any chance to see the whole?

                            Cheers!

                              Hi,
I have not in hand the shirt with detachable collar in this moment but I think it needs three buttoms to attach the collar and a fourth one to close the neck.

Frank, will add some photo later.

                              Best regards
                              Fran
